Our annual picnic, held November 2 at Phoenix Greyhound Park was a smashing success. A little over 500 greyhound owners came out to spend the day with all of their wonderful hounds. It is always such a special time for the AAGI staff to see all of the adopted greyhounds come back for a fun day. Thank you for making time to attend this event.

The costume contest, as always, was great fun. What a riot to see the great imaginations of some of our adoptees — and the greyhounds are always so tolerant of it all! Our judges had a real challenge choosing the final winners, but here are their selections. Judy Sutton was the lucky winner of the 29" brass greyhound in the raffle with many other happy runners-up.

The only cloud on an otherwise sunny day was that the radar gun for timing the Blur of Fur failed to operate properly. After several attempts the crew abondoned the timing & just let folks have a good time letting their hounds race down the grassy course. The folks from RU2 Systems promise to get things ready for next year so be ready! By the way, we sell squawkers (the noise maker) in the AAGI trailer.

Dana Provost was the grand prize winner in the "Hunt for Your Hound" contest and lots of happy pups consumed their catch in "Bobbing for Hot Dogs."

Enjoy the pictures but plan to join us 2003!!
