Now that cooler weather is approaching our event calendar starts overflowing. This is the time of year we really need volunteers to come out with their greyhounds and help promote adoption. Sometimes events come up or are confirmed at the last minute, so if you can spare some time make sure your name is on the notice list, either for calling or e-mail. Or just let us know if you can attend any of these events. For more information call Sharon at 602-971-6935, box #3 or e-mail sharon@arizonaadoptagreyhound.org. Arizona Family Fun Expo Dates not confirmed, typically the first week in Oct. Phoenix Civic Plaza The final of the three large Expo events sponsored by Channel 3 -- along with the Women's & Men's Expos. These are always great venues for us and we meet many potential adoptors. This event typically runs 2 days and is very busy so we need lots of volunteers. Fountain Hills Thanksgiving Parade Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22 Our greyhounds are sure to be the stars of the parade as this year our entry will feature a float. The more folks & hounds the better. Call Don or Donna Corriero, 480-837-3652. Tempe Festival of Lights Parade Saturday, November 24 This is always a fun event to help kick-off the holiday season. The only requirement is that your greyhound must be adorned with lights - leash, collar, coat - the more the better!! You can get the battery powered lights at Wal-Mart, Michael's or other local stores. Dress up! Have fun! We donate food to the needy in lieu of an entrance fee so bring a can or two when you come.
