Waiting at the Bridge
The long, hot summer is upon us! This time of year it seems that everyone hibernates indoors and dreams of cooler weather. Personally I can’t WAIT for fall!

In the meantime, we’ll have to think of ways to get out of the house and still stay cool. While our activities for you and your greyhounds do slow down, there are still plenty of things to do with your pets. Why not head up to Prescott for Territorial Days on June 8th and 9th? We’d love for you to visit PetsMart on one of our scheduled days. We’ll also be at the Men’s Expo on June 22nd and 23rd. Finally, come on down to Phoenix Greyhound Park on Saturday, July 13th for our Dog Wash.

I am very pleased to report that we have placed 204 greyhounds so far this year. Thank you to everyone who volunteers for our program, your hard work is truly paying off. Our greyhounds have found wonderful new homes! And just to make sure you know how much we appreciate all you do, we’re hosting our annual Volunteer Appreciation Brunch and Volunteer Orientation , on Saturday, August 17th. This is for both experienced volunteers and those who are interested in getting more involved.

Our Annual Alumni Night took place on March 24th at Phoenix Greyhound Park. Everyone had a fantastic time! Go check out all the fun photos! We had a terrific time and are already looking forward to next year!

I would also like to congratulate the winners of the Night of Stars Photo Contest. Judi Weintraub tied for first place for her photo of Taz, Wally and Peggy Ringhoff won first place in the Competitive Division with their photo of Gus, and our own Sharon Diebel won an honorable mention for her photo of Dynamo. All three were honored at Phoenix Greyhound Park during the Night of Stars races.

Have a great summer, stay cool, and we’ll see you in the fall!

Kiersten
